ABOUT THE NOVELLAS

From time to time, there will be novellas to complement the series. These are stand-alone, shorter side stories using characters from the books, and they have similar themes, but they do not form part of the series content. The novellas can be read at any time (but recommended after book 1 so readers are familiar with the characters and themes). Unlike books from the main series, they will not be available on Kindle Unlimited.The novellas are available from Amazon internationally.

This atmospheric horror story takes place just after "Mother of Marlin", Book 1 of The Marlin Chronicles series.This novella is a stand-alone tale which accompanies The Marlin Chronicles, and although it adds to that series, it can just as easily be enjoyed on its own. (The main story continues in "Children of Marlin", Book 2 of The Marlin Chronicles).

In this story, Stephanie and her faithful friend Jan take a relaxing trip to recover from the events of the past few months. They find themselves in a pretty Welsh village nestling in a lush, green valley; the perfect place to unwind. But soon they discover that even the most innocent-looking places can harbour sinister secrets. A change can be as good as a rest, but there can be no rest when someone needs their help. Soon, their weekend break turns into a fight for survival.

Alyson Mountjoy returns to her Welsh roots in this story, combining her memories and paranormal experiences with fiction, history, folklore and her love of all things Welsh. Above all, it is a tale of friendship.

Then a series of mysterious deaths rocks a quiet village in the beautiful Devon countryside, east of Marlin, and the police are baffled. Stephanie can’t refuse a call for help, so she takes Jan and another friend and colleague along to investigate. But what awaits the three women is far more sinister than they bargained for. Tradition meets terror in a deadly battle of wills, as they find themselves trapped and isolated during a sudden blizzard. Can they solve the mystery in time?
