3. WHISPERS OF MARLIN
Marlin is in the middle of a heatwave, and Stephanie is plagued by terrible visions. She
returns from a welcome break to find that danger stalks Marlin once more,
resurrecting time-worn prejudices. There’s a stranger in the village, rumours
are rife, and old wounds are re-opened with disastrous consequences. “Beware the Whispers!”
Marlin is under attack from a threat linked to its
distant past and Stephanie and her friends are all drawn into the middle of it. When they finally make sense of symbolic warnings and sift through the lies, they realise that they can only
truly rely on each other. Death stalks the village, and beyond; it waits, lurking in the shadows. To save them all, the
secrets of Marlin will have to be revealed. But at what cost? An offer of help arrives in the form of an old
friend. Can he be trusted? Stephanie must face her fears and fully accept the
destiny that she was born to fulfil.
